A woman has been left 'distraught' after an alleged sex attack by an Uber driver.
The woman, 20, reported the incident to the police almost three weeks ago on August 23 and the investigation is ongoing.
An Uber spokesperson said: “What has been described is totally unacceptable and has no place on the Uber app.
"We take all reports of this nature very seriously and investigate thoroughly.
"With a report of this nature, a driver would be prevented from using the Uber app whilst we investigate, and if the allegations prove true, an individual would face permanent deactivation.
"We also work closely with the police to assist with any investigation.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a sexual assault on a 20-year-old woman by a man in Mugdock Road, Milngavie on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
