Two new shops could be built on a plot of open land in Gartcosh if North Lanarkshire Council agrees.
N&R Gartcosh Partnership has submitted a planning application concerning a vacant site to the west of Old Garloch Road, proposing the construction of one food retailer and one non-food retailer.
Neighbouring properties, including Gartcosh Community Centre, have been sent notification of the plans.
The council has acknowledged the application and says a decision can be expected by November 12.
