Residents are coming together to launch a bid to save a former bowling green, after several plans to build flats there.
The Crescent Green is a community initiative to possibly take over the former Corunna Bowling Club land and Clubhouse in Finnieston.
It will be launched with an event on Saturday, October 7, from 10am until 11.30am, at Sandyford Henderson Memorial Church.
Organisers are urging anyone who lives locally to attend and help shape the future of the green space.

A spokesperson for the community initiative said: “Please come along to what we hope will be a fun and inspiring event to discover more about a possible community buyout of the former Corunna Bowling Club land and Clubhouse, and how it might be used.
"Everyone is welcome: see what’s going on and share your thoughts about what you’d like to happen, let’s work together to preserve and enhance our local green space!
“There is so much potential within the site for the local community to explore.
" Ideas already suggested include a community growing area, a safe play area for children in the community, and a community hub for local clubs and individuals to access, but we want to gather as many thoughts as possible to help the project go forward.”
This comes after several planning applications were rejected by Glasgow City Council to build flats on the site, formally known as the Friends of St Vincent Crescent Conservation Area (FSVCCA).
The land was successfully registered as a community interest in the former Corunna Bowling Club in 2020, giving the community the opportunity to acquire the land if the owners decide to dispose of it.
