Some trains have been cancelled or diverted because of a telegraph pole which fell on the wires.
ScotRail has confirmed that the incident happened between Springburn and Robroyston stations in North Glasgow.
Network Rail staff have a temporary switch off of OHL and are attempting to remove pole.
Services between Queen Street and Falkirk Grahamston will be diverted and Trains between Queen Street and Cumbernauld are cancelled.
The company said on X (formerly Twitter): "We have received a report of a telegraph pole resting on the overhead wires near between Springburn and Robroyston. Our staff are on their way to investigate further.
"These carry 25,000 volts to power trains, so we have to be extremely careful. At the moment, we have cut power to them until the area can be made safe."
