SEVERAL Glasgow chippies have reached the finals in a major award competition.

It comes after The Scottish Fish and Chip Awards revealed this year's finalists.

Making the list for the "Best Chippy in the West Scotland" from the city included: 

  • Ann's Fry Fish and Chips in the Gorbals
  • Gennaro's on Great Western Road
  • Kadir's Fish and Chips at Parkhead
  • Tina's Quality Fish and Chip Shop on Calder Street

Meanwhile, other fish and chip shops making the shortlist for the category were:

  • CATCH Fish and Chips in Giffnock
  • Fine Catch in Cambuslang
  • Kadir's Fish and Chips in Barrhead
  • Mario's in Giffnock
  • Peter Chippie in Thornliebank 
  • Sandro's in Johnstone
  • The Chippy & The Bakers in Cumbernauld 
  • Marina Fish and Chips
  • Hook Fish and Chips
  • Plutus Fish and Chips

On top of that, many more Glasgow chippies have been shortlisted across other categories as well for an award.

Winners of the event will be announced at the Gala Final on Monday, November 13, in Glasgow.
