A man is due in court after cops and bomb squad teams were called to a property.
The emergency services including police and explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) units descended on a home in West End Drive in Bellshill on Sunday afternoon.
Items were discovered within the residence and safely removed.
Cops confirmed that there is no wider risk to the public, but an investigation has been launched.
A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident and is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.30am on Saturday, September 20, 2023, officers attended a property on West End Drive, Bellshill.
“Items were discovered within and EOD attended. Enquiries remain ongoing however there is no wider risk to the public.
“A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, October 2.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
