A group of men 'talking about rape' on a Glasgow train has sparked an investigation.
The incident is said to have taken place on board a service from Glasgow Central to Kilwinning on Sunday evening.
A passenger shared a post on social media, which is understood to have since been deleted, condemning the behaviour.
They also said the discussion between the three male passengers happened within earshot of two disabled women and an autistic teenager.
Transport cops confirmed that they had been made aware of the incident and that they were investigating it.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Shortly before midnight on October 1 officers received a report of a group of men talking about rape on board a train to Kilwinning.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone else with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 678 of October 1, 2023.
"We are dedicated to ensuring every woman and girl can travel without fear of harassment or intimidation.
"It's vital that passengers continue to report these incidents to us for us to be able to take action.
"If you experience or witness sexual harassment or a sexual offence on the railway, we urge you to report it to us by texting 61016 or via the Railway Guardian app. In an emergency always dial 999."
ScotRail also assured passengers that they are dedicated to making their trains a safe place for both customers and staff.
Stephen Elliot, ScotRail's security and crime manager, said: “ScotRail works very closely with British Transport Police to ensure that Scotland’s Railway is a safe environment for our customers and our own people.
“To assist us in tackling unacceptable behaviour, it’s important for anyone who witnesses it to report those responsible to BTP so that they can be brought to justice.”
