A national suicide prevention charity will be hosting a fundraising event in Glasgow tomorrow.

For World Mental Health Awareness Day, PAPYRUS (Prevention of Young Suicide) will be marking the tenth year of its flagship fundraising event, HOPEWALK, with a stroll from George Square at 12pm.

The event will be an opportunity to gather friends, family and neighbours to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention, or, to honour the memory of a lost loved one.

Glasgow Times:

Graeme Young, PAPYRUS Area Manager for Scotland said: “We are proud to be organising a HOPEWALK through the streets of Glasgow.

“Our HOPEWALK is an opportunity for people in Glasgow to come together, to honour the memory of loved ones lost to suicide, and to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention.

“The walk will start at 12pm from George Square in Glasgow, then make its way around Glasgow Green, then on to Strathclyde Students Union for some refreshments.

“This will be the first HOPEWALK organised by the PAPYRUS Glasgow team, and it is our aim to break the stigma around suicide and to start having vital conversations about prevention in our communities, not just in Glasgow and the West, but all across Scotland.”
