Bosses have revealed they have 'changed the format' for this year's Christmas light switch-on.
The event, which is hosted by Glasgow Life, is to be held at George Square on November 19.
But organisers have confirmed that there are to be no fireworks at this year's ceremony, with a focus instead on live performances and the switch-on itself.
Details on the ballot for tickets will be revealed next week.
A spokesperson for Glasgow Loves Christmas said: "We’ll be announcing details of the Christmas Lights Switch-on ballot next week.
"We want to make you aware that the event is changing format in 2023, focussing on live performances and the switch-on of the fantastic Christmas lights.
"There will be no fireworks at this year's event, which reduces disruption to residents, is more environmentally friendly and allows for investment in other programming.
"Stay tuned for more details coming soon!"
