A whisky retailer has been granted permission to proceed with sales from a premises in Milngavie.
East Dunbartonshire Licensing Board has given the go-ahead for Maverick Malts to trade from its unit it Cloberfield, on an off-sales basis between 10am and 10pm daily and also online. The licence also permits the storage and on-site packaging of orders received via Amazon and its own website.
Police said they were not aware of any convictions involving the business and also disclosed crime figures for the area.
It was noted that employees are fully aware of age verification procedures and other requirements relating to the sale of alcohol, and also that Milngavie is not listed as an area of overprovision. Further, the trading hours requested were in keeping with local policy.
The Health and Social Care Partnership recommended a Challenge 25 policy be observed.
Following a brief period for deliberation the licensing board unanimously agreed to grant the application.
