A woman was 'raped' in a hotel in the early hours of the morning this weekend.
The incident occurred within the premises of a hotel in Coatbridge at 2am on Sunday, October 15.
Cops believe the 44-year-old met her attacker at a taxi rank on the evening of Saturday, October 14.
The woman's attacker is described as being in his 40s, around 5ft 10in tall and of medium build with short light brown hair.
He was wearing dark jeans, dark shoes and a blue zipper top with white trim around the collar.
Detective Inspector Lorraine Wilson said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of this incident and would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.
“The woman involved had been in a bar on Main Street during the evening of Saturday, October 14, prior to making her way to a nearby taxi rank where she met the man. We would urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything of note in the area to get in touch.
