A Glasgow steakhouse could be named the best restaurant in the country in an upcoming hospitality awards event.
Finnieston eatery Porter & Rye will battle it out against Dean Banks at the Pompadour in Edinburgh to be named Restaurant of the Year in the fine dining category.
The restaurant has been shortlisted in the hospitality magazine Scottish Licenced Trade News (STLN) awards.
Porter & Rye was selected by the magazine for its marrying of "opulent dining with a relaxed atmosphere".
It adds: "With starters designed to share, mains where customers can select their meat of choice from bespoke fridges within the venue, and creative cocktails, it is the ultimate Glasgow dining spot."
One of the venue's cocktail waiters Dan Docherty has also been shortlisted in another award category, Mixologist of the Year.
It comes after we reported that Porter & Rye had been named on a list of best steak restaurants in the world.
In May, World's Best Steak Restaurants, a London-based publisher, revealed its newest list of 101 best steak eateries - and Porter & Rye finished 55th.
The steakhouse is not the only local hospitality venue to make the shortlist in the upcoming awards, which will be held on November 2.
Two city pubs, Stravaigin and The Lovable Rogue, are up for Gastropub of the Year, while Bag O'Nails or the Palais could be named Independent Pub of the Year.
New Business of the Year could be awarded to wine and negroni bar Malo which opened earlier this year on Bothwell Street, while the Pot Still has been recognised as a finalist for Whiskey Bar of the Year.
A spokesperson for the awards said: "The annual SLTN awards recognise excellence across Scotland’s world-famous hospitality industry.
"From bar staff to industry leaders; from a beloved local pub to national operators; the SLTN Awards are your opportunity to be recognised for what you do, and how well you do it."
