A woman kicked off at several door staff after being refused entry to a Glasgow nightclub.

Jacqueline Love, 44, was outside the Classic Grand on Jamaica Street at 12.20am on May 28, 2023.

She walked up to the door staff, who refused her entry.

The situation escalated and she punched one worker in the face.

He pushed her back, which caused her to fall. Love stood up and attempted to punch another employee, unsuccessfully.

She refused to leave and the staff took hold of her and contacted the police.

Whilst being held, she bit a third security guard on his arm. This caused no injury.

She also punched a further worker in the face as they continued to restrain her.

Officers arrived and took Love, of Whitburn, to Govan police station, where she was cautioned and charged.

Her lawyer said: "She had a rare opportunity to go out. She has difficulty with her children, this was her opportunity to socialise.

"She drank too much, she accepts that. She accepts she acted in an unacceptable manner. She is ashamed and upset about the way she acted.

"She has no previous convictions.

"In the last year, she was struggling with mental health.

"She is now in a better place. She has no issues with alcohol or drugs and she accepts these matters are serious.

"She is not fit for unpaid work."

Sheriff Bernard Ablett said to Love: "I am going to impose a structured deferred sentence on you. You will be required to come back and I will ask for a report."
