A popular restaurant and bar has announced the return of its sell-out natural wine festival.
Sylvan Wine Fair will come back to its namesake restaurant in the West End after the overwhelming success of the first event in October.
The event, which showcases Sylvan staff's favourite importers of low-intervention and natural wine from around the UK, will take place on January 28 2024 at the West End restaurant.
This iteration will treat ticket holders to a new and expanded range of fine wines with over 80 options to sample from a dozen importers.
Natural wines have earned mainstream popularity in recent years and are made without the use of any synthetic chemicals or additives resulting in a low level of sulphites, harking back to traditional wine-making methods.
Futtle Organic from the East Neuk will also make the return journey to Glasgow, pouring organic and naturally produced Scottish beers alongside craft and clean-produced ciders from UK firm Hard-Pressed Cider.
Colin Campbell, owner of Sylvan and organiser of the festival, said: "We are delighted to be holding the wine fair again this winter as it gives us something to look forward to in those wistful and rudderless days after the festive season."
He added: "We thought about how to improve on the first event, and there was only one thing for it: more importers and more wine. So that’s what we’ve done.
"Tickets sold so quickly last time as the demand was beyond anything we could have expected.
"We were overwhelmed with feedback from folk who missed out last time, so we have upped the numbers for this festival and can't wait to see a mix of faces new and old."
Over one of three 2-hour sessions, attendees will be invited to take their tasting glass and peruse the various stalls, discovering a wide selection of new wines, specially curated for their enjoyment.
Experts will be on hand to help guide guests through the nuances of each sip and the history of each drop while they explore the world of natural wine and sample responsibly.
After making some special new discoveries, guests can also purchase bottles of their new favourites to take home.
Each ticket costs £15.00 and includes:
• Access to one of the three 2 hour sessions, starting from 12pm.
• Sylvan Wine Fair guide, with info on attendees and wines available on the day.
• Unlimited (responsible) access to the stalls, and samples of over 80 natural wines, ciders and organic beers.
