A GLASGOW-born dad has died in a US hospice following a "long struggle" after a motorbike accident.
Raymond Gillies passed away on Wednesday, November 1, in Middletown Ohio.
The 36-year-old, also known as "Ray", was born in the city to father Raymond Gillies and mother Annie Gillies and has two sons.
The young dad was employed at Harley Davidson in Dayton, Ohio, and was well-known for his love of riding motorcycles.
He also loved Ice Hockey, MMA, and boxing.
Tributes for the former Glasgow man have since flocked in on social media after his tragic passing.
One said: "I'm at a loss for words.
"You were a beautiful young man taken from us way too young.
"Your huge smile lit up a room! You loved your life to the fullest.
"I always said pound for pound you were the toughest little man I ever knew. We will miss you tremendously.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Big Ray and your two sons."
An obituary for Raymond on Trinity Cremation Care said: "Gillies Raymond E. age 36 years, five months and 22 days passed away after a long struggle following a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, under Hospice Care in Middletown Ohio.
"He was born in Glasgow, Scotland to father Raymond Gillies and mother Annie Gillies [Elder] on Tuesday, May 5, 1987.
"Raymond “Ray" is preceded in death by his mother Annie Gillies
"He is survived by his father Raymond Gillies, and sons Landon and Triston.
"Ray was employed as a Harley Davidson salesman in Dayton, Ohio, and was well known for his love of riding motorcycles.
"He also participated in Ice Hockey, MMA, and boxing laterally as a member of the DMC boxing club.
"A celebration of life will start at 11:00am On November 13, 2023."
