A Glasgow restaurant has revealed plans to open a new chain after 'remarkable' growth.
Turkiye EFES will open another branch, adding to their existing restaurant which opened on Candleriggs in 2019.
The team behind the authentic Turkish eatery made the decision to expand after experiencing a period of growth, and they will reveal the location of the new restaurant 'soon'.
To accompany the new venture, the team is hiring in a number of positions including grill chef, meze chef, Turkish oven chef, a la carte chef and a sous chef.
Turkiye EFES was opened by talented chef Serkan Aydin who first moved to Glasgow in 1999 and was 'determined' to run his own restaurant serving traditional Turkish cuisine.
Despite a rocky start opening just before the Covid pandemic, Serkan and his team soon found their feet.
He exclusively told the Glasgow Times: “It was very difficult. The first couple of months were very difficult, trying to explain to the customer what Turkish food is about and trying to get customers through the door, that was the hardest part.
“As soon as the customers started to come in the word-of-mouth advertising was great and we became popular all of a sudden.
“On TripAdvisor, out of the 1600 restaurants around Glasgow, we were actually number three at one time.”
