A woman has been rushed to hospital after multiple cars crashed on a busy motorway.
Her condition is unknown after four vehicles collided on the northbound carriageway of the M74 between junctions 6 and 7 near Ferniegair.
Emergency crews raced to the scene around 3.30pm following the incident.
Traffic was at a standstill for over two hours as 999 crews worked to clear the wreckage.
The traffic authority confirmed at 5.10pm that the Scottish Ambulance Service had left the scene.
Drivers were trapped in their cars for hours following the collision with police officers releasing traffic off the carriageway at Junction 6 just after 5pm.
Drivers are still warned to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
