A prisoner has made his way onto the roof of Glasgow's Barlinnie.
The individual is said to have made it onto the roof of the East End prison around lunchtime and it is understood that he is still there.
He is believed to be throwing missiles including slabs from the roof down onto the ground.
It is also understood that prison visits have been cancelled today.
The Scottish Prison Service confirmed that the incident is ongoing and that they are taking measures to deal with it.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: "I can confirm an incident is ongoing and staff are working to bring it under control in a way which safeguards the wellbeing of all concerned."
Police Scotland has not received a report of the incident.
