Prison bosses have provided an update on an incident with an inmate at Glasgow's Barlinnie.
We previously reported that officers at the East End prison were dealing with an incident involving an inmate who had made their way onto the roof on Sunday.
It was understood the person was throwing slabs from the roof down onto the ground.
Sunday visits to Barlinnie were also understood to have been cancelled due to the incident.
The Scottish Prison Service has now confirmed that the individual was safely removed from the roof on Monday morning.
A spokesperson said: "The incident at HMP Barlinnie was safely resolved at around 7.20am today, Monday, November 27.
"SPS staff worked hard to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all concerned throughout."
When contacted by the Glasgow Times, Police Scotland said they had no report of the incident.
