A Glasgow eatery has won best restaurant at a national awards event.
Chefs and restauranteurs from all over Scotland gathered at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow on Sunday evening to celebrate the best in Italian cuisine at the Italian Awards.
And picking up the gong for Best Italian Restaurant (West) was Piccolo Mondo on Argyle Street.
The team are used to winning awards for their craft, as we previously reported that they won Italian Restaurant of the Year at the Scottish Restaurant Awards in July.
Meanwhile, city eateries La Vita, La Lanterna, Amore and Andiamo in Milngavie came 'highly recommended'.
Other Glasgow restaurants which shone at the awards were Celino's in Partick and Alexandra Parade, which picked up 'best deli' and 'best dessert' and came highly recommended for 'best barista'.
La Vita Barrachnie, which opened earlier this year in the East End, won 'Best Newcomer'.
Merchant City spot Mediterraneo earned an 'Outstanding Achievement' award.
Now in its tenth year, the event saw over 750 esteemed guests come together and VIP guests including celebrity chef Aldo Zilli and Great British Bake Off winner Giuseppe Del Anna.
Warren Paul, the Italian Awards founder and CEO, said: “From the start of the Italian Awards, our goal has been to ensure that Italian businesses are given as much exposure as possible.
"There are some real hidden gems, winning an award at the Italian Awards can change your hidden gem into a national sensation!
“Our 10th anniversary did not disappoint, the passion and determination of Italian restaurateurs helps maintain Italian cuisine as the number one choice for diners in Scotland.
"I want to congratulate all winners and highly recommended businesses for 2023.
"I would urge the public to take the time to try some of these amazing Italian eateries and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for our 11th year in 2024, ci vediamo l'anno prossimo!”
