A MAJOR motorway has been restricted after a vehicle fire and road crash.
Emergency services have been at the scene on the M80 motorway at junction five, near Cumbernauld, since early Monday evening, November 27, according to Traffic Scotland.
The Glasgow Times understands that the incident involved a collision and a vehicle fire, which closed the road for a short period of time.
The latest according to Traffic Scotland report that the carriageway is now up and running, however, delays of nine minutes are expected with restrictions in place.

The Northbound carriageway is now restricted at Junction 5. Lane one (of two) is now running.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to a two vehicle crash on the M80, northbound near J6, Cumbernauld, around 5.30pm on Monday, 27 November, 2023.
"One vehicle caught fire and this was extinguished. There were no reports of injuries.
"The road was closed while recovery was arranged.”
