A person has died following an incident near two train stations.
Trains between Motherwell and Uddingston stations were temporarily suspended on Sunday evening after emergency services were called to a nearby incident on the line.
The line was closed for around two hours.
Transport cops confirmed that they had been made aware of a casualty on the tracks.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is not being thought of as suspicious.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the line in Uddingston at around 17.47 on November 26 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal."
