A Canadian hospitality firm has opened the doors of its first Glasgow hotel.
The Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel on West George Street boasts 179 rooms set across ten floors with nine premium room styles.
The iconic Pegasus House building will now offer business and leisure travellers a 4-star experience following a multi-million pound revamp.
Mitch Gaglardi, director of Sandman Hotel Group United Kingdom & Ireland, said “This particular hotel is especially close to my heart, as I spent a number of years living in Glasgow creating great memories with my wife and kids.
"From its incredible architecture to its vibrant cultural scene, Glasgow is hands down one of my favourite cities in Europe.”
He added: "Our first hotel in the city will offer guests a stylish and memorable experience in a prime location -- just a stone's throw from the leafy West End, Glasgow Central and a short drive from the airport.
"We’re excited to add a further 179 bedrooms and suites to the city for people to come and enjoy its world-famous hospitality.”
We previously reported that the new hotel created around 100 jobs in the city in various roles including general managers, front desk team, waiting staff, housekeeping and kitchen staff.
The hotel also features a premium steakhouse, Chop Grill & Bar, which serves up the finest cuts of British meat in a sophisticated and stylish setting.
