A busy Glasgow road has been closed due to emergency repairs.
A section of Pollokshaws Road will be reduced to one lane under temporary traffic lights from Abbot Street to just beyond Moss-Side Road.
It comes as a result of a property in the area experiencing internal sewer flooding due to a four-metre-deep damaged section of pipework.
It is anticipated that the repair may take up to three weeks to complete.
Georgina Reid, Scottish Water’s corporate affairs regional manager in the west said: “Given the specialist equipment required we will need to close the southbound carriageway of the road.
“Four-way traffic lights will be used but given how busy the road is these will be manually operated to keep vehicles moving through the works as quickly as possible.
“There is no other way of being able to access the damaged section of sewer we would ask road users to be patient or choose an alternative route if possible.”
The four-way traffic lights will be located on Kilmarnock Road, Moss-Side Road, Pollokshields Road and Abbot Street.
They will also incorporate multiple pedestrian crossings and on-street parking will be reduced.
Georgina added: “We appreciate these works will have an impact and we will work hard to complete the repair as soon and as safely as possible.
“We would like to thank drivers and the local community for their patience and understanding while these vital works are carried out.”
