The flagship restaurant and bar inside of the city's newest luxury hotel has officially opened to the public.
Designed as an opulent modern social club, the Commons Club is the signature restaurant inside of the new Virgin Hotels Glasgow overlooking the riverside.
Situated across two floors, the Commons Club Restaurant and Bar spans from the ground floor to the hotel's Highyard Mezzanine level with both floors offering contemporary Scottish menus.
The Commons Club Restaurant infuses relaxation and elegance for an upscale dining experience.
Upstairs, the Highyard offers riverside views with a covered terrace and retractable roof.
Executive chef Jean-Paul Giraud, former head chef at The Spanish Butcher, has created a unique menu for both venues that draws inspiration from bold flavours around the globe.
Diners can expect a varied menu in the restaurant with dishes like handmade pigs cheek stuffed pasta, whole Shetland monkfish, Chateaubriand and cauliflower shawarma pomegranate.
The Highyard Mezzanine will serve up brunch classics and a range of small dinner plates like the lobster hot dog with nduja ketchup, fennel mustard and caviar, duck liver parfait and burrata with house-made tigelle bread.
Chef Giraud said: "I’m thrilled to be a part of the team here at Virgin Hotels Glasgow.
"The city already has a really vibrant local food scene so it’s a fantastic opportunity to contribute to this through the addition of Commons Club Restaurant and Highyard Mezzanine, offering two distinct yet complementary dining experiences in the heart of Glasgow.
“We’re fortunate enough to have access to some of the world’s finest produce right here in Scotland and by infusing these ingredients with global flavours inspired by Glasgow’s rich heritage, we’ve crafted a menu that truly celebrates the city’s essence.
"As we evolve our offering with the changing seasons, we look forward to welcoming guests back time and time again.”
Hotel general manager Tom Gibson added: “As the flagship of the Virgin Hotels collective, Commons Club is the gold standard of fine dining.
"While each restaurant features its own unique twist, our guests know to expect luxury when dining at Commons Club.
“With a menu inspired by the seasons and a selection of the very finest Scottish produce, we are sure international travellers and Glasgow locals alike will enjoy everything Commons Club has to offer.
"And for the more casual diner, we are pleased to offer a relaxed atmosphere upstairs in Highyard, with small plates, live music and a fresh take on cocktails.
“We are excited to officially launch Commons Club and look forward to being able to host specialist events and new experiences in the future to further expand our dining and entertainment offering.”
The Commons Club and Highyard Mezzanine are the first food and drink outlets to open in the new hotel on the banks of the River Clyde.
Once finished, the Virgin Hotels Glasgow will feature 240 Chambers and Grand Chamber Suites and multiple dining and drinking destinations with the addition of two new spaces next year, the Funny Library Coffee Shop and Rocks on Fox Street – a luxurious whisky bar that is set to have one of the finest whisky collections in Glasgow.
