The owner of a much-loved family-run shop has revealed plans to sell the business.
Cakes and Shakes Dessert Bar in Kilsyth will soon change hands after the owner Lyndsey has decided to take more time with her family.
She shared a heartfelt message to her loyal customers who were disappointed but wished her well.
The statement read: "It’s coming to the end of my current lease term and I have decided that I’m not going to renew it. I have had absolutely amazing time this last two years but I have also missed a lot.
"I have missed a lot of time with my kids and my husband. I thought I could do both and let go of the shop reins a little but I can’t Turns out owning your own business does take a lot of time and work!
"I am planning on selling the business on as going concern as the shop has been and continues to be a great success! You guys have been amazing and for that, I’m truly grateful.
"I hope you continue to support us and going forward with the possible new owners."
The news has resulted in messages of support from the community, with one person saying: "I'm sure this was a difficult decision to make, but it will be lovely for you to have more time for family."
Another wrote: "Absolutely gutted! Our favourite dessert place!"
A third added: "Can't even begin to imagine how tough it would be to run your own business but you've done amazing."
The ice cream shop still plans to remain open until it is sold after the New Year.
