A bid to create flats above Glasgow city centre retail units has taken a step forward.

Planning permission is being sought to transform office and storage units, some of which are empty, on Buchanan Street into liveable spaces.

As the Glasgow Times reported in October 2021, permission was granted for a change of use.

Now, applicant Buchanan Properties is bidding to make changes to the building to facilitate the plans.

From 101 to 107 Buchanan Street, there are retailers such as Kiehl's, Timpson, News Plus, Bier Halle and Mountain Warehouse.

Above them, the first-floor unit will become a two-bedroom flat, while on the second floor, two one-bedroom, one two-bedroom and one three-bedroom apartments are planned.

On the third floor, there will be a two-bedroom home.
