A Glasgow business is hoping to tackle loneliness this festive season with a free wellbeing charity day for the whole community.
Wolfson Brands, a supplement manufacturer in North Glasgow, hosted a day of free activities, snacks and hot drinks on Thursday in a bid to break the stigma of loneliness at Christmas and raise money for Beatson Cancer Charity.
Ruairi Hunter, head of wellbeing and community, told the Glasgow Times: “We want to challenge that feeling of loneliness that we can all get at this time of year.
“For some, it can be hard to get out of the house so this is a chance for people to come along – even just on their lunch break - and grab a cup of tea and a chat.
“It's a chance to raise some awareness and break stigmas.”

The day ran from 11am until 3pm and included 14 free mini events from a nutritionist lecture and a yoga class to a creative writing workshop and comedy corner.
There was also a pamper station where people could get complimentary hand massages and manicures as well as an ice bath challenge – where prizes were won.
The event was open to all members of the public and took place at The Haberdashery at 545 Sauchiehall Street.
The Wolfson Brand team were also on hand to offer free cakes, hot drinks, smoothies and a chat.
Their products were also available to purchase - with all sale money going towards Beatson.
Ruairi said: “On the day we will have donation buckets for Beatson if anyone would like to contribute and 100% of any sale on our products will be going to the charity too.
“Beatson Cancer Charity is close to the whole team’s hearts.
“The latest statistics are that one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime, so all the team has been either directly or indirectly affected.
“Our CEO really likes to give back to local charities, so that comes down from the top which is amazing.
“We are excited to raise some awareness and funds for a charity that does such amazing work.”
