An empty former pub in Motherwell could come back into use as a shop if a planning application is successful.
The single-storey detached building in High Street, Newarthill, was previously the Cottage pub and restaurant. It is now the subject of a planning application proposing a change of use which would classify it as a food retailer.
Plans submitted alongside the application indicate that the shop would feature three central aisles along with sections for frozen foods and soft drinks.
