A Glasgow dentist will welcome 500 more patients after a major expansion.
Cardonald Dental Clinic reopened on November 8 following a £400,000 investment by dental group Scottish Dental Care.
We previously reported that work began on the facility back in August to build two new surgeries, a new staff room and clinic frontage, improvements to existing surgeries, a new heating system and a new roof.
The clinic is now ready to welcome new NHS patients from areas including Paisley, Renfrew and Ralston, adding to its active register of 4000.
Glasgow South West MP Chris Stephens said: “It’s fantastic to see investment into local businesses here in Cardonald.
"The expansion of Cardonald Dental Clinic will allow them to serve 500 additional NHS patients, providing much-needed access to affordable dental care.
“Investing in the health of our communities is vital, and I commend Scottish Dental Care for its over £400,000 refurbishment of this clinic.
"With state-of-the-art new equipment and facilities, this clinic will enable first-rate dental care for local families for years to come.”
An established part of the Cardonald community since the early 1990s, the clinic will also be introducing a new affordable dental plan to offer to both those struggling to find dental services, as well as existing patients.
Lead clinician Neil Scott said: “I am delighted with the standard of work that has been undertaken as part of this major refurbishment.
"Our team values the relationships they have with the patients, and the community, so to be able to expand our services to meet the demand is very exciting.
“Cardonald Dental Clinic has been a key part of the community for more than 25 years, and we’re delighted to be able to provide excellent services for years to come."
The expansion of the Cardonald branch comes after the practice was acquired by Scottish Dental Care’ in 2017.
As part of their strategy of providing high-quality dental care to patients across Scotland, the clinic will offer all aspects of NHS dentistry as well as private treatment such as Invisalign and composite bonding.
Lynn Hood, chief executive of Scottish Dental Care, said: “Keeping dentistry local and investing in community clinics like Cardonald is important to us, and forms a key part of our growth strategy.
"We’re committed to ensuring our patients have access to high-quality dental care.”
