A probe into the death of three babies in Lanarkshire will start next month.

Leo Lamont, Ellie McCormick and Mirabelle Bosch are all said to have died "in circumstances giving rise to serious public concern".

Leo was born on 15 February 2019, Ellie on 4 March 2019, and Mirabelle on 2 July 2021.

A virtual hearing on Friday at Glasgow Sheriff Court where the families were represented as well as the Greater Glasgow Health Board.

The Scottish Ambulance service will also take part but were not at the hearing.

No information regarding the deaths were revealed.

Advocate depute Lisa Gilespie stated: "Witnesses are cited and available for the dates and times for the proposed running order."

Catherine Smith KC told the hearing that videos lasting a number of hours related to BadgerNet online maternity notes have become available.

She stated: "The system will be involved in your findings and there will be decisions in regards to that."

Sheriff Principal Aisha Anwar said: "I would like to know if you wish me to view the whole video or just the excerpts which will be played to the inquiry."

Alejandro Ruggeri, representing the McCormick, family claimed that his preparation had been hampered by the video not being made available.

Alan Rodgers told the hearing that midwife McPhee will give evidence at the fatal accident inquiry.

It was also confirmed that members of the families will be present.

Sheriff Principal Anwar said: "It appears we are ready to proceed to this inquiry which will commence on January 9."

The sheriff also confirmed that the inquiry will look into Mirabelle's death then Ellie's and finally Leo's which will end on March 1.

Further dates will be required for submissions.

The family of Mirabelle were praised last year after they raised £5,000 to pay for legal advice.

Dad Eckhardt Bosch said: "I am pleased to say that we have reached our target. Thank you for all the donations.

"We are overwhelmed with the support. We have been advised not to give any further public updates regarding the case.

"This is understandable, in light of the complexity and sensitivity of the matter.

"However, please keep praying for God's involvement during the next couple of months. With hearts of gratitude, Eckhardt and Rozelle."
