A popular Glasgow cafe has made a major announcement this week.
No.9 Delicatessen, based in the Southside of the city, has recently revealed that the business has been sold.
The owners of the Shawlands cafe took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal that they have now handed over the keys to the new owners.
The couple said: "We know word in shawlands travels fast...so most of you probably already know. We handed our keys to No 9 Delicatessen over today to its new owners.
"It wasn’t an easy decision but as all of you know we welcomed our beautiful little boy back in April, so in order to spend more time with him and as a family, we made the sad decision to move on.
"We just want to thank all of our customers for all their support over the last 3 years; we couldn’t have done it without you and we’ve loved serving you and the community feel you all bring.
"We’d also like to make a special mention to a few local businesses that have always been there for us, it’s been quite a journey Minard road and we’ve made some life long friends 🩵 so thank you Southside Butchers, Shawlands Laundry and USave Minard Road, we could always count on you.
"Now it’s time for some well deserved time off, we hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year."
Customers of the cafe were disheartened to read the news, but wished the now-previous owners well.
One user said: "I'm so sad to see this! I usually order from here everyday for my lunch, you surely will be missed!
"Good luck and all the best for the future, for you're lovely family!"
Another added: "Awww gutted about this! Loved your place!"
While a third said: "So sad to hear this! Enjoy the time while you can. Good luck for the future whatever you do."
