Seven people have been arrested after a seven-figure sum was allegedly stolen from a pensioner.
The elderly woman in South Lanarkshire is said to have the funds taken from her between May and August 2023.
Cops worked with partners from the National Crime Agency's National Economic Crime Centre as well as other forces to investigate alleged high-value fraud.
As a result, six men and one woman were arrested in Eastbourne, Stansted, Dagenham and East Ham on Thursday, December 14.
The 34-year-old woman and four men aged 39, 39, 41 and 50, were also charged and are due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday, December 18.
Meanwhile, two men aged 23 and 28 have been released to appear in court at a later date.
The force says it is continuing to investigate alleged fraud.
