Over 180 new homes are to be built after a housebuilder bought a site near Glasgow.

Miller Homes has acquired a 45-acre plot in the Hallside area of Cambuslang.

Located six miles southeast of the city, the new development will consist of 182 three, four and five-bedroom homes.

Work on the new energy-efficient properties is expected to begin in spring, with the first homes ready for residents to move into in spring 2025.

It comes after Miller Homes recently completed another development, Newton Fields, also in Cambuslang.

The firm aims to use this latest purchase of land to meet the demand for local housing in the area for the next five years.

Andrew McArthur, regional operations director for Miller Homes Scotland West, said: “South Lanarkshire has always been a desirable place for house buyers, with demand increasing over recent years as people recognise its perfect blend of urban living with exceptional connectivity.

"This new acquisition adds to the flourishing mix of new communities across the region and allows us to meet the demand for high-quality family homes."
