A DRIVER who crashed into traffic lights which fell on a pedestrian and caused a bleed to her skull has a warrant out for his arrest.

Morteza Goodarzi, 40, ploughed into the temporary lights in Glasgow's West End on January 17, 2021.

Ms Kerr - who was waiting to cross the road - was knocked to the ground after they landed on top of her.

The 29-year-old suffered a number of injuries to her head, a displaced tibia and a burst ear drum.

Goodarzi pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to causing serious injury to Ms Kerr by dangerous driving.

Lawyer Ross Yuill withdrew from acting at an earlier sentencing hearing due to a breakdown in his relationship with his client.

Goodarzi, of the city’s Anniesland, did not attend a sentencing hearing this week and a warrant was granted by Sheriff Gerard Considine. 

The court earlier heard that Goodarzi was behind the wheel of a black Vauxhall Corsa when he drove at speed on Crow Road.

Ms Kerr meantime was on the pavement with her parents.

Prosecutor Darren Harty said: "Goodarzi undertook a motorist and thereafter crashed into temporary traffic lights and pavement barrier.

"This caused the traffic lights to strike Eve Kerr which resulted in her landing on the ground."

Paramedics attended and took Ms Kerr to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

She suffered a temporal bone fracture as well as a bleed to the skull.

Eve also sustained a displaced right tibia as well as a burst ear drum to her left ear.

Her knee was put in a cast and she had to undergo physiotherapy.

She suffers numbness and stiffness to her knee.

Ms Kerr also has headaches, brain fogginess and dizziness as a result of her head injuries.

She has been fitted with a hearing aid and suffers from permanent tinnitus.
