A popular family-run cafe has announced the return of its much-loved Boxing Day celebration for those in need.
Wee Betty's, located in the Lochs Shopping Centre in Easterhouse, will welcome people through its doors from noon on December 26.
The cafe, which is owned by four sisters, has been putting on the event for three years.
This year, attendees will be treated to a three-course meal along with hot or cold refreshments and a Christmas gift to take home.
Sammy Quinn, a co-owner at Wee Betty's, said: "Each year it gets busier. Most people seem to think it's just for the homeless, but it's for anyone on their own."
She added: "It’s for the community. We have some families that come along which is good because everything is expensive.
"This year I’ve felt the struggle and a lot of people have felt the struggle so much harder this year.
“It’s nice for people to know that during the pressures of Christmas, they can come to us on Boxing Day."
Wee Betty's is known for bringing people together, with many regulars building friendships among each other and the staff.
Sammy said: "We are like a family with our customers. We know everyone's names and we spend a lot of time with them, taking time to sit and speak with them.
"I look forward to volunteering, it's a nice day."
Volunteers will be on hand to pick up partygoers and drop them back at home when the event finishes at 4pm.
Sammy said: "It's good to do something for your community. We like to give something back.
"It doesn’t matter if you have a bit of money or some family that you see once in a while.
"If you think you're going to be sitting on your own on Boxing Day and you would like some company you’re welcome to come."
Robert McGregor, the owner of B&G hair and beauty salon, will be hosting karaoke for the attendees after last year's successful debut.
Sammy said: "Everyone loved that last year, they were up dancing and singing and we had a great time."
If you're interested in attending, please pop into Wee Betty's or give the cafe a call at +44 7584 032617 to register your interest.
