Convicted paedophiles at a Glasgow prison were said to be treated to Christmas carols and selection boxes.
It is understood that rapists and other sex offenders in Barlinnie have spent months rehearsing festive songs to perform at a special Christmas concert last week, the Scottish Sun reports.
The paper also reports that inmates received the boxed chocolate gifts as a reward to take back to their cells.
A source told The Scottish Sun: “Christmas is mainly for children so the fact paedophiles and rapists were singing songs about this time of year doesn’t sit right.
"And selection boxes are mainly for kids. The whole thing is weird.”
The Scottish Prison Service said: “The festive period can be difficult for people in our care and loved ones due to being separated.
“Staff work hard to support wellbeing, mental health, and relationships at all times, but particularly throughout December.”
