Shocking pictures have been released today showing a ScotRail train battered in by a fallen tree.
The images show the front of the vehicle completely smashed in as the service was heading from Dundee to Glasgow.
Luckily, the driver was left unharmed by the terrifying incident.
It comes as Storm Gerrit has caused mass flooding and travel chaos throughout the city and wider country today.
MSP Paul Sweeney shared the images on X writing: "Horrendous tree impact damage to a ScotRail InterCity 125 locomotive today, en route from Dundee to Glasgow.
"Thankfully, the driver is unharmed.
"Whilst a British railway icon, the crashworthiness of the 125 does not meet modern standards. The driver's cab is a fibreglass shell."
