A Scottish amusement park  has donated almost £2,000 to help Lanarkshire residents.

M&D's Scotland’s Theme Park has raised £1,800 and donated food items to The Wee Mobile Foodbank.

The food bank is a non-profit organisation which provides one-off emergency support to individuals in the area who do not normally resort to mainstream foodbanks.

M&D's Matthew Taylor said: "The team at the Wee Mobile Foodbank do a great job all year round but especially at Christmas when they have to juggle helping people alongside their day jobs as well as be with their own families.

"The response from visitors to the Theme Park has been amazing and we are very grateful."

The donation area for food items was set up at the Theme Park while businesses like Reflexblue, Ynot Business, Gillespie & Anderson, Loop Communications and M&D’s offered cash contributions.

Colin Dickson, co-runner of the Wee Mobile Foodbank, said: "We’d like to thank everyone so much as it's an unbelievable amount and will be a great help to many people."
