TWO people have been rushed to hospital following a horror one-car smash in Newton Mearns yesterday.
Officers say the incident took place on Neidpath Road East at around 4pm on Wednesday, January 3.
The road was closed throughout the accident.
Following it, two people were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Locals reported that the car had "smashed into a tree", while there was "wreckage all over the road" and there was a "house wall demolished".
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers attended a crash involving one car which happened Neidparth Road East, Newton Mearns, at around 4.05pm on Wednesday, January 3.
“Emergency services attended and two people were taken to hospital.
“The road was closed while services attended and recovery was arranged for the vehicle.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 4.10pm on Wednesday, January 3, to reports of a road traffic collision near Whitecraigs, East Renfrewshire.
"Operations control mobilised two fire appliances to Neidpath Road East, where firefighters helped lead two casualties to safety before passing them into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service personnel.
"The casualties were thereafter taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"Firefighters left the scene after working to make the area safe."
