Cops taped off part of a housing estate in Glasgow following a possible 'firearm' discovery.
We previously reported that police tape had been erected in the Mulben Crescent area of the city's Roughmussel on Saturday afternoon.
An eyewitness told the Glasgow Times that an officer was photographing the scene.
The force revealed that they had been made aware of a possible firearm in the area.
When the item was recovered, officers examined it and it was found to be a toy.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.15pm, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, police received a report of the discovery of a possible firearm in the Mulben Place area of Glasgow.
“The item was recovered for examination which established it was a toy and not a viable weapon.”
