A project to build a 551-bed student accommodation in Glasgow has reached a new milestone.
Contractor GRAHAM and its frame partner Hampsey Ltd have completed the third stage of constructing the development at 225 Bath Street in less than eight weeks.
Each building stands 36 metres tall and replaces a vacant office block which dates to the 1970s and was demolished earlier this year.
Once complete, the accommodation will offer a contemporary design with glazed frontage aiming to complement the existing streetscape.
Due for completion in 2025, students are said to benefit from "luxury communal amenities" including a gym, a gaming arcade, dining spaces and social areas set across 16,390 square feet.
The new complex will sit adjacent to another student accommodation project built by GRAHAM, Elgin Place, which features 323 beds.
Gary Holmes, regional managing director at GRAHAM Building North, said: “We’re really pleased with the significant progress being made at Bath Street since works commenced in July.
“The critical demand for new student homes across the city is an ongoing conversation and the new offering at 225 Bath Street will help to bridge the gap between supply and demand for students in Glasgow.”
