A former betting shop is to be turned into hot chicken takeaway Lucky B’s after plans were approved this week.

The Nashville-style chicken eatery will open at 2 Hillington Road South in the Cardonald area.

Lucky B’s Hot Chicken already has a base on Fenwick Road in Giffnock and now has the go-ahead to open a second location in the former Paddy Power premises.

Its menu includes chicken wings, chicken tenders, burgers and loaded fries.

A planning application from Pollo Hub PRW said the food outlet is to have a sit-in area for up to 20 people.

Lucky B’s Hot Chicken was created by best friends Giancarlo Celino and Toni Dobrenko after they spotted a gap in the market “for one of America’s most popular fast food concepts” according to the website.

It states: “The chicken is marinated in buttermilk and other secret ingredients for 24 hours; coated in their own house dredge and fried until crispy and golden then finished with Nashville-inspired spices.”

The team announced the plan to expand to Hillington Road South last year.

Now planning permission has been granted for use of the vacant betting shop as a restaurant and hot food takeaway as well as the installation of an extract flue and formation of a door at the rear of the property.
