A Glasgow man was ordered to pay a £500 compensation to a police officer he assaulted.
James Maclinden, 46, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week after he pleaded guilty to resisting arrest, throwing his body and headbutting a police officer.
Cops were called to his Penilee address on January 20, 2023.
He threw his head back, striking an officer on the head.
Maclinden was taken to the ground. He did not require medical treatment.
He was arrested, cautioned and charged.

At the hearing, his lawyer said: "He has found employment at a construction site. He makes around £500-600 a week.
"He consumed too much alcohol and he accepts that."
Sheriff Allan McKay said to Maclinden: "You are in a lucky position with money."
He was fined £450 and ordered to pay £500 in compensation to the officer he struck.
