A Glasgow man spat at and attacked two police officers.
James O'Brian, 40, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a cop and attempting to punch another on the body.
The incident took place on February 10, 2023, on Shettleston Road in the East End.
At the hearing, his lawyer said: "He has admitted he is an alcoholic. He describes it as binge drinking.
"There are issues with mental health as well."

Sheriff Allan McKay said: "He could be going to prison, given his record and nasty style of assault.
"But if he is willing to try another option, then I am willing to give it to him."
O'Brian was sentenced to 135 hours of unpaid work which is to be completed within six months.
The sheriff added: "I intend to keep an eye on what is happening here."
