Tributes have been paid to a former Kirkintilloch pries who has died.
The death of Father Michael Savage was announced by the Archdiocese of Glasgow, along with his funeral arrangements.
He was born on January 22, 1959 and ordained priest by Bishop Devine at St Albert’s church on July 3, 1983.
After his studies, including at at St Aloysius' College in Glasgow, he worked across Scotland.
From 1987, he was a chaplain at St Ninian's High School in Kirkintilloch and later an assistant priest at St Flannan's.
He retired due to ill health in 2019.
His remains will be received in the Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt, Campsie Glen, at 7pm on Thursday, January 18, with transfer to Saint Margaret Mary’s in Castlemilk for the funeral mass at 12 noon the next day.
Burial will take place after at the family plot in Mearns Cemetery, Newton Mearns.
Many came together in the comments to pay tribute to a beloved man.
One person said: "Sad to see this Father was such a caring person and enjoyed his stay in Nazareth House, he will be sorely missed."
Another added: "So sad. RIP Father Michael."
