A man faces a lengthy jail-term after two guns were found in designer bags.
George Mitchell was held after police searched the home the 34-year-old shared with his father in Airdrie, Lanarkshire days before Christmas 2022.
Prosecutor BJ Gill told the High Court in Glasgow officers first checked drawers in a bedroom. Mitchell was not there at the time.
Mr Gill: "They found a black Gucci bag which contained a blue hospital scrub in which a black handgun was wrapped.
"Also a black Hugo Boss bag which contained a silver revolver style gun."
Mitchell's dad later told police that it was his son's room where the weapons were discovered.
The handgun was found to be Italian made originally designed to discharge blank cartridges.
The other was a silver self-loading pistol from Spain capable of firing bullets.
Both weapons were said to be in "fair external condition".
Mitchell appeared in the dock to plead guilty to two charges of possessing the guns.
Lord Young deferred sentencing for reports until a later date.
