A MAJOR motorway in Glasgow is set to be closed overnight for more than a month.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will complete a package of essential overnight maintenance works on the eastbound carriageway of the M8 motorway.
The works will be carried out between junctions 18 and 16 and completed in multiple phases throughout the year.
Phase one of the road works will take place from Sunday, January 28 until Saturday, March 9, from 8pm until 6am each night.
The work will be carried out using weeknight closures.
As part of the first stage, the eastbound M8 traffic will be directed off the M8 at junction 18 onto St George's Road, following to Garscube Road, onto Dobbie's Loan, and then back onto the M8 at junction 16.
There will also be eastbound slip road closures at junctions 19 and 18, with traffic being directed to North Street and then St George's Road to join the main diversion.
