A PENSIONER has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy high street.
Officers say they received a report of the incident on High Street in Dumbarton at around 12.50pm on Thursday, January 18.
According to the police, the crash involved a pedestrian and a car.
Following the horror accident, the pedestrian, who is an 85-year-old man was taken to hospital.
We previously reported that cops locked down the street during the incident.
Officers have also confirmed an investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 12.50pm on Thursday, January 18, we were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on High Street, Dumbarton.
“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, an 85-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
