AN update has been provided following a 'gas leak' on a busy Glasgow street last night.
We previously reported that 999 crews raced Dixon Avenue in the city's Southside after being made aware of the incident at around 3.45pm on Thursday, January 19.
A source told the Glasgow Times that police were spotted "all over" the area.
Now, SGN has confirmed they attended a 'gas escape' in the area yesterday afternoon.
According to the gas company, homes were evacuated while engineers repaired the issue.
However, they have since confirmed the problem was resolved last night.
A spokesperson for SGN said: "We attended a reported gas escape on Dixon Avenue yesterday afternoon.
"For safety reasons, a number of flats and the nearby pub were evacuated and a rest centre was opened for those affected.
"Our engineers made the situation safe and carried out repairs to our gas network.
"The work was completed last night and everyone affected was able to reoccupy their property."
A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Around 3.45pm on Thursday, January 18, police were alerted to a gas leak in Dixon Avenue, Glasgow."
